On 2 October 1773 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, John Hardeman of Pittsylvania County, sold to William Harrison of Goochland County, Virginia, for £500, 500 acres, adjoining the north side of Dan River, adjoining lines of Nicholas Perkins on the upper side from the river, to Harriss’s corner, crossing the creek, to Been’s line at William Harrison’s, including all the lands both high and low grounds which John Hardiman is possessed of. /s/ John Hardiman. Witnesses: Moss Armistead, John Dix, Robt. Payne, John Robertson. Acknowledged 25 February 1774. Dorotha, wife of John Hardeman, relinquished dower rights. Recorded 28 April 1774.37
