Thomas2Hardeman (John1) was born 8 January 175063 in Albemarle or Cumberland County, Virginia,64 and died 3 June 1833, Williamson County, Tennessee.65 His estate was partly settled in Howard County, Missouri, where he owned property and had lived from 1816 to 1830.66 He married first circa 1770, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, to Mary Hardin Perkins, born 15 August 1754, Goochland County, Virginia, died 24 May 1798, Davidson County, Tennessee.

| | Mary Hardin Perkins and Susannah Perkins were daughters of Nicholas Perkins and Bethenia Harding, born circa 1720. Nicholas Perkins was born circa 1718, Henrico County, Virginia, will made 25 February 1762, proved 17 June 1762, Halifax County, Virginia.68 The will of Nicholas Perkins named daughters, Susannah and Mary Perkins. Bethenia Harding Perkins (widow of Nicholas Perkins) married second, circa 1767, to John Chadwell.69
