| He moved from Washington County, to Davidson County, Tennessee, in 1786. From 1798 until 1800, Thomas went on an extended visit to Henry County, Virginia. He returned to Davidson County, Tennessee, in 1800. He moved to Williamson County, Tennessee, in 1803. In 1816, Thomas moved from Williamson County, Tennessee, to Howard County, Missouri. He lived in Missouri until 1830, when he returned to Williamson County.

| | Thomas Hardeman had a medium heavy build, was about 5’ 10” tall. He had blue eyes and a round ruddy face. He had sandy hair and was balding noticeably in later years.74

| | Thomas Hardeman and Robert Crockett witnessed the codicil to the will of Gideon Marr in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, 2 September 1776. Gideon Marr’s will was made, 12 April 1776, and proved 22 May 1777 in Pittsylvania County.76 Gideon Marr was the father of John Marr and the father-in-law of Susannah Perkins Pryor Marr, Thomas Hardeman’s second wife.

| | The battle of King’s Mountain was 7 October 1780. Thomas was a captain in William Bean's Company of Watauga Riflemen at the battle of King’s Mountain. In 1780, Hardeman commanded a company of North Carolina troops against the Cherokee Indians.
