    W. B. Hardeman was a trail driver during the 1870s and 1880s. He wrote “Punching Cattle on the Trail to Kansas.” Tom P. Baylor went with Hardeman on cattle drives to Kansas, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Baylor was the son of John Robert Baylor. Cattle drivers made $30.00 a month.1343
