| | 12 May 1798, John Everett, Junr. of Davidson County, Tennessee, received from John Hardeman of Oglethorpe County, Georgia, $200, being in full of a legacy left to my mother, Easter Everett, formerly Easter Hardeman, as appears by the will of my grandfather, John Hardeman of Guilford County, North Carolina, deceased, which will expresses that Easter’s part, that is my mother, be lent to her during her natural life and then to be given to the heirs of her body. John Everett, being one of the heirs of Easter, now deceased, for myself and agent for my sisters and brother: Cumfort, Dorothy, Susannah, Lydia, Betsey, and Thomas, sold to John Hardeman of Oglethorpe County, Easter’s part of the estate of John Hardeman, deceased for $200. My sisters, Cuffort, Dorrothy, Lydia, and Susanah have sent orders by me directed to the executors of the estate of John Hardeman, deceased. Orders taken up by John Hardeman of Oglethorpe County, as my sister Betsey and brother Thomas are at present minors and not capable of acting for themselves and their part of the estate is paid to me without their orders. I bind myself to John Hardeman for $500 to process their receipts when they are able to act for themselves. /s/ John Everett. Witness: Isaac Collier, J.P.132
