    4. Elizabeth2Hardeman (John1), born circa 1754, Halifax County, Virginia,153 died 21 December 1847, Bellview Furnace, Dickson County, Tennessee. She married circa 1772, Pittsylvania County, Virginia, to William Stone, born circa 1750, will made 26 April 1805, proved June Term 1805, Dickson County, Tennessee.154
    William and Elizabeth Stone moved from Pittsylvania County, Virginia, to Washington County, North Carolina (now Tennessee), circa 1778. William Stone was tax assessor of Washington County, in 1780, and captain of the militia in 1790. They lived in Grainger County, Tennessee, from about 1794 until about 1803. They moved to Robertson County, Tennessee, about 1803. William Stone, Sr. and Bartholomew Smith signed the petition by the residents of Robertson and Montgomery Counties, 1 September 1803, asking that Dickson County be formed. Dickson County was formed in 1803 from Montgomery and Robertson Counties.
    On 8 May 1794, William Stone and Elizabeth Stone of Washington County and Territory South of Ohio, legatees of part of the estate of John Hardiman, formerly of Guilford County, North Carolina, deceased, sold to John Hardiman of Oglethorpe County, Georgia, all legacies coming to us from said estate as legatees or any other claim against said estate and have received full satisfaction. /s/ Wm. Stone, Elizabeth (x) Stone. Witnesses: Michael Massingil, Hardiman Stone. Proved in Jefferson County, Territory South of Ohio, by Michael Massingale, 13 May 1794, Wm. Cox, J.P.155
    In Sumner County, Tennessee, 2 May 1798, Charles Donworth of Washington County, Tennessee, sold to William Stone of Grainger County, Tennessee, for $1000, tract on East Fork of Spencer’s Creek,
