| On 20 January 1800 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia, Thomas Colley sold to John Hardeman, both of Oglethorpe County, for $550, 200 acres on Big Creek waters, adjoining southeast by John Tarrance, west by William Carragin, north by Newton.280 On 24 June 1802, John Hardeman and Nancy, his wife, sold to William Harris Crawford, all of Oglethorpe County, for $800, 200 acres on Big Creek waters, originally granted to Micajah Williamson. Witnesses: Isham Smith, Vines Collier.281

| | On 2 February 1804, John Hardiman sold to Parmenas Haynes, Senr., both of Oglethorpe County, for $200, 130 acres on Buffalo Creek waters a branch of Long Creek, adjoining said Haynes and Zachariah Arnold, is part of tract originally granted to George Lumpkin. Also, 24 acres on the south side of Haynes tract. Witnesses: Dorothy Raffety, Richard Haynes, Lydia (x) Raffety.282

| | The will of John Hardeman was made, 1 February 1804, and recorded 21 September 1804. John Hardeman of Oglethorpe County being sick and expecting my approaching end is near. To my loving wife Nancy Hardeman all my estate during her life or widowhood. If my wife marries again she is to have my negro girl Jenney, one grey filley got by old Hingham, also a child’s part out of the balance of my estate. Negro woman Rose and her youngest child to be sold if necessary. To my daughter Betsey when she comes of age or marries my negro girl Sarah. To my son Thomas when he comes of age or marries my negro boy Peter. To my son John my negro girl Polley when he comes of age or marries. To my son Robert Vines when he comes of age or marries my negro girl
