76. vi. Lydia D. Strong, born 18 September 1799, Oglethrope County, Georgia, died 21 October 1878, Upshur County, Texas, married 26 December 1815, Oglethorpe County, Georgia, to John Wilkes,348 born 5 October 1792, died 30 August 1871, Upshur County, Texas, son of Benjamin and Sarah Wilkes.
    In Oglethorpe County, Georgia, 10 November 1824, Jno. Wilkes of Jasper County, Georgia, sold to John Hardeman of Oglethorpe County, for $600, 68 ½ acres in Oglethorpe County, on Troublesome Creek, a fork of Long Creek. It is the land allotted to John Wilkes by Writ of Partition to divide the real estate of Benjn. Wilks, deceased, of which Jno. Wilkes is an heir. Witnesses: Isaac Hardeman, Elijah Deupree, James S. Palmer.349
    John Wilkes lived in Troup County, Georgia, in G.M.D. 800, in 1840. John and Lydia Wilkes lived in Troup County, Georgia, in 1860.350 They lived in Upshur County, Texas, in 1870, with Henry Wilkes.351
