| | Seth Lewis witnessed deeds in Davidson County, Tennessee, in 1794 and 1795 with his brother-in-law, N. P. Hardeman. In 1795 he witnessed deeds with Samuel Donelson and Andrew Jackson. Seth Lewis witnesssed a deed in 1796 for Andrew Jackson.393

He was attorney general of Natchez District in 1807 and attorney general of the Mississippi Territory. 18 August 1806, Seth Lewis wrote a letter from Natchez to the Humane Society for the Abolition of Slavery in Richmond, Virginia.397
