He married first, 31 July 1799, in Henry County, Virginia, his first cousin, Sarah J. “Sally” Marr,447 daughter of John Marr and Susannah Perkins Pryor.448 Sally J. Marr was born 4 November 1783, Henry County, Virginia, died 3 July 1823, Rutherford County, Tennessee.449
