| 4. John2Mapp (1. Littleton1), was born 14 January 1761, Northampton County, Virginia, died 23 March 1828, Greene County, Georgia, aged 67.32 He married 14 July 1784, Spartanburg County, South Carolina, Mary “Molly/Polly” White, born 13 July 1763,33 will made 25 May 1846, recorded 3 March 1847, Greene County, Georgia, daughter of Henry White. John Mapp was a resident of Spartanburg District, South Caroina, during the Revolutionary War.34

| | On 6 September 1785, John Mapp sold to John Atkinson, both of 96th District, 247 acres on Goober Creek.35 On 8 September 1796, Spartanburg County, John White, Reubin White, Francis White, Richard James, Thomas James, John Mapp, and Ann Cook, for her son Henry White late of Spartanburg County, to brother Daniel White, power of attorney to call Henry White’s administrator to account for final settlement to Henry White’s estate. Witnesses were James Smith, M. Lovina Smith. Proved 21 November 1796. 21 November 1796, Daniel White of Spartanburg for above parties to settle with Mrs. Ann Cook, administratrix of Henry White, Esq., decd., to finish administration. Including bond given by Ann Cook (then Ann White).

| | John Mapp paid taxes in Hancock County, Georgia, in 1794 and 1796, and in Greene County, from 1801 to 1815. On 21 November 1796, in Greene County, Shadrack Rozer of Louisville, Jefferson County, sold to John Mapp of Hancock County, 303 acres, adjoining Wm. Thomas, Barnard Heard, and John Kendall.36

| | Robert H. Mapp was a resident of Hancock County, aged 73, on 15 May 1845. Robert said that he resided in Spartanburg District, South Carolina, during the Revolutionary War. Robert also said John Mapp was his brother and John was about ten years older than he was. Robert said that John Mapp married Mary, daughter of Col. Henry White. Robert wasn’t present at their marriage, but saw them at his father’s house for dinner the same day they were married. John and Mary Mapp were married until separated by death. She had remained a widow ever since.37
