    Thomas L. Morris was the son of Simon Morris, Sr.,643 who lived next door to Daniel Meadows in Taliaferro County. Rachel was the daughter of William Colclough,644 who died in 1821, Greene County, Georgia, and Charity Harris, who died in October 1846, Taliaferro County, testate.645
    John Chapman, born 25 July 1802, had been married twice before he married Rachel. He married first, 10 January 1822, Wilkes County, Georgia, to Hepzibah Elizabeth “Sue” King, born circa 1802, died 1 November 1827, daughter of Richard King, who died in 1853, Taliaferro County, Georgia, aged 96. John Chapman married second, 30 November 1828, Taliaferro County, to Mary Meadows, born 10 March 1812, Greene County, Georgia, died 11 May 1830, Taliaferro County, daughter of Daniel and Ann Meadows, and widow of Henry A. Daniel. (See No. 61, Mary Meadows).
    Susan Meadows was the daughter of Susanna Chapman and Simeon Whatley Meadows. John T. Chapman’s father and Susan’s mother were brother and sister. John and Susannah Chapman were children of Nathan Chapman, born 11 February 1777, died 8 July 1868, Taliaferro County, and Elizabeth Hart, born 30 January 1780, Caswell County, North Carolina, died 29 May 1863, Taliaferro County.646
    John T. Chapman graduated from the University at Penfield in Greene County, Georgia, with an A.B. degree as a member of the Class of 1860.
