    David Meriwether moved to Coweta Co., Ga. in 1856. He lived in Coweta County, in 1860; Jane Meriwether was head of the family.701 David was 6’1” tall with brown hair and eyes; he served in the C.S.A. He had two brothers and two sisters. One brother was in the C.S.A. and the other died before reaching maturity. After Ann died, her parents, James Marion and Clarisse H. Meadows helped rear her children.
    David and Ann’s son, Housan D. Meriwether, said he was reared 15 miles from Grantville and less than two miles from the Heard County, line in Coweta County. James M. Meadows, David J. Meriwether’s father–in–law, sold him land in Coweta County, in 1871.702

450. i. Housan Dupree6Meriwether, born 16 October 1866, died 13 December 1948, married circa 1897, Charlotte E. McGath, born May 1872, Ohio, daughter of Henry W. McGath. Housan was a school teacher. They lived in Banks County, Georgia, in 1900,703 and Gwinnett County, Georgia, in 1910704 and 1920.705 Housan lived in Lexington, Kentucky, in 1942 and 1943,706 and in St. Petersburg, Florida, in 1944.707
