| William Meadows moved from Warren County, North Carolina, to Stephens Creek in Wilkes County, Georgia, in 1798, with his father Isham Meadows. William Meadows paid taxes in 1800 and 1801 in Wilkes County, in Capt. John Bethune’s District RR; he owned no land.90 In 1802, the Meadows were cut off from Wilkes County, and put into Greene County, Georgia. William registered for the 1805 Georgia Land Lottery in Greene County. William Meadows paid taxes in Greene County, in 1815, in Willis’s District. He paid taxes in 1825 in Greene County, in Capt. Horatio A. B. Nunnelly’s 139th District, on 148 acres on Stephens Creek. In 1825, William Meadows was cut off into Taliaferro County, Georgia, when it was created from Greene County.

| | William lived in Greene County, Georgia, in 1820.91 He lived in Taliaferro County, Georgia, in 183092 and 1850.93 On 1 September 1832, Sterling Acree sold land to William Meadows, both of Taliaferro County, for $523, 195 acres on Sandy Run.94 The same day, 1 September 1832, William Meadows sold the 195 acres to Allen Rhodes.95
