| Daniel made application for bounty land in Coweta County, Georgia, 12 November 1850. He was 71 years old and a resident of Coweta County. He was the identical Daniel Meadows who was a private in the company of Capt. John Colbert in the first regiment of Georgia Militia commanded by Col. Thomas in the War with Great Britain declared by the United States on 18 June 1812. He volunteered at Haralson, Greene County, about 1 May 1814 for the term of six months and continued in actual service for a term of five months and was honorably discharged at Sparta, Hancock County, Georgia, 15 March 1815, as appears by the muster rolls of said county. He made the declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which he may be entitled under the act granting bounty land to certain officers and soldiers who had been engaged in military service of the United States passed 28 September 1850.142

| | In Heard County, Georgia, 24 August 1855, Daniel Meadows appeared before Reuben Jackson, J.P. Daniel was aged 76 and a resident of Heard County. He was a private in Capt. John Colbert’s company in the regiment of Col. J. Thomas commanded by Gen. J. Floyd stationed near Savannah in the war with Great Britain. He had made application for bounty land under the act of 28 September 1850 and received a land warrant for 80 acres which he has since legally disposed of and cannot now return. He made this declaration for the purpose of obtaining additional bounty land to which he is entitled under the act of 3 March 1855.143
