Simeon Whatley4Meadows (Daniel3, Isham2, Daniel1), was born 15 January 1807,324 Greene County, Georgia, died 21 October 1864, aged 57, Heard County, Georgia.325 He married first, 30 August 1827, Taliaferro County, Georgia, Susanna Chapman,326 born 18 March 1809, Greene County, died 2 November 1855,327 aged 46, Heard County.

| | Susanna Chapman was the daughter of Nathan Chapman and Elizabeth Hart. Nathan Chapman was born 11 February 1777, died 8 July 1868, aged 91, Taliaferro County, Georgia. Elizabeth Hart was born 30 January 1780, died 29 May 1863, Taliaferro County, aged 83. They married 20 February 1800.328 Nathan and Elizabeth Chapman lived in Taliaferro County, in 1860.329

| | Simeon married second, 28 August 1859, Heard County, Mrs. Sarah Brown Newman, born circa 1823, widow of Richard Newman.330 Simeon and Susanna are buried on what was known as the old Wood place, between Newnan and Franklin in Heard County.331 Sarah Newman Meadows was buried 17 September 1864 in Heard County.

| | 325 Family Bible of Simeon W. Meadows, Simeon Meadows departed this life the 21st day of October in the year 1864. Also, Simeon J. Meadows Bible, Simeon W. Meadows died Oct. 21, 1864. Simeon W. Meadows died testate. Heard Co., Ga., is a burned county and the will doesn’t survive. Simeon’s son, Simeon J. Meadows, stated in his Family History that Simeon’s land was sold at executor’s sale.

| | 331 Family History written by Simeon Joseph Meadows, son of Simeon Whatley Meadows. Three of the children of Simeon Joseph Meadows, and John Lyon Martin, son–in–law of Simeon W. Meadows, were all buried on the old Wood place. Edmund Daniel and wife, Julia Ann Welborne, are buried in the orchard, just outside the garden, not more than 100 yards from the old house.
