    William received a grant, 6 February 1762, for 466 acres in Granville County, North Carolina, on the north side of Crooked Run, adjoining Lashley, Mathias, and Slaughter.35
    29 July 1761, William Meadows and Peter Smart were sworn chain carriers and Thomas Person was surveyor for a North Carolina land grant to Peter Smart for 420 acres in Granville County.36
    William Meadows paid taxes in 1762 in Granville County, in Pryor’s District, as did his brother, James Meadows. Each paid one poll.
    William Meadows sold his land in Granville County, North Carolina, by August 1767, and moved to Caswell County, North Carolina.
