| pages 98-99 5 Dec. 1820, Edward Cox, admr. of the estate of John Billups, decd., late of Oglethorpe Co., Ga., to Lancelott Johnston of Morgan Co., Ga. Admr. finds it necessary to make application to the Inferior Court of Oglethorpe Co. for a Rule Nisi authorizing Edward Cox to sell 1/2 of two town lots in Madison, Morgan Co. One lot corners the public square. Both formerly owned by Mitchell & Cox & conveyed by them to John Billups & Co. Two 1/2 lots were previously sold by the late exors. of John Billups to said Johnston unless cause to the contrary could be shown. At the last Inferior Court in Oglethorpe Co. cause to the contrary was shown. Edward Cox, admr., obtained Rule Absolute to sell same. Tuesday, 5 Dec. 1820, at the courthouse in Oglethorpe Co. exposed to public sale & Lancelot Johnston was the highest bidder, for $50. /s/ Edward Cox, admr. of the estate of John Billups, decd. with Will annexed.
