pages 373-374     Power of Attorney: Oglethorpe Co., Ga.: James Northington of Oglethorpe Co., appoint Robert Pearman of Morgan Co., my true & lawful attorney, to give in all my personal & landed property & pay the tax of property in the proper offices of receiver & collector & all other demands county may demand against property, to wit: one house & lot in Madison town, 150 acres where James Duke now lives on Hard Labour waters & 150 acres on Sugar Creek I lately purchased of Charles Kennon, with all personal property I may place on plantations, overseers employ them, revoke at will, employ doctors & do all other matters that may concern the interest of property for my interest & only defend rights of property for me according to justness of my lawful claims on all above cited property, employ & do all other lawful acts, 28 Dec. 1822. /s/ James Northington.
