For better securing payment to Ann Taylor for $9500, the receipt of the value whereof from her by her release of dower &c. To Ann Taylor, tract in Morgan Co., 2300 acres, adj. lands of Peter Walton, Isaac R. Walton, Milus C. Nisbet, Douglas Watson, Robert Taylor, Travis, Cook, & the Widow Smith, known as the plantation of the deceased Walter Taylor & now of David J. E. B. Butler. If David J. E. B. Butler pays Ann Taylor $2375 before 1 Oct. 1824, & same amount on 1 Oct. 1825, 1 Oct. 1826, & 1 Oct. 1827 with interest from today on the four promissory notes then this mortgage to be void. This mortgage is not to be forecloseable until all notes are due, but this shall not prevent Ann Taylor from suing on any of the notes which may be & remain unpaid. /s/ David J. E. B. Butler.
