Jeter to Thomas Smith, both of Morgan Co., for $1217, in afsd. co. but in Baldwin Co. when surveyed, on Indian Creek waters, 140 acres, part of Lot 1. Also, part of Lot 2, 20th Dist., beg. at William S. Stokes’s cor. where original line between Lots 1 & 2 cross branch, S. 56 W. 25 ch. on Lot 2 to cor. on branch, down branch to confluence, up F. Kirby’s Shop Branch to 15th Dist. line, on dist. line N. 45 E. to cor. of Lot 33, N. 45 W. on line of Lot 33 to Stokes’s cor. on branch, up middle of branch to beg., in fee simple. /s/ W. Jeter. Test: Wm. S. Stokes, Bennett Fitzpatrick, Jo. Fitzpatrick, J.P. William Copeland has agreed to bind himself to be equally bound with George W. Jeter in supporting titles to above land willed by my father to said Jeter & sold by him to Thomas Smith so far as relates to any claims that may come in & through any of the legatees or claimants of Richard Copeland, decd., 5 Jan. 1824. /s/ William Copeland.
