| page 150 Mortgage: Morgan Co., Ga.: Jubal E. Watts today received from Adam G. Saffold of afsd. co. $900 in full for a mulatto boy named Abram, sound & well, 17 Nov. 1823. Condition: Saffold has endorsed for Watts a note of $1100 in the Darien Branch Bank at Milledgeville & is now about to endorse same for purpose of general security. Saffold has taken mortgage on a negro woman, Mary & her 3 children, which is not deemed sufficient. If Watts saves Saffold harmless from each endorsement for renewal of note & pay at maturity a promissory note of today from Watts to Saffold for $138 for rent which is due 25 Dec. next then this to be void, else to remain in full force, 17 Nov. 1823. /s/ J.
