| page 322 Deed of Gift: Morgan Co., Ga.: Leavin Smith of Butts Co., Ga., for natural love & affection, to my two sons, Richard Smith & John Smith, give 4 negroes, Jack a fellow, Mariah a woman & Candis & her child. This deed of gift is on condition that if the present wife of Leavin Smith shall die before him that Levin Smith is to take possession of the negro woman Mariah & keep her so long as he may remain unmarried. If Leavin shall lose his other negroes not named in this conveyance by misfortune & he should fall into indigent circumstances, then he is at full liberty to take any or all of the negroes above named & use them his lifetime & no longer when they will revert back to Richard & John Smith, 5 Dec. 1827. /s/ Leavin Smith.
