pages 344-345     Mortgage: Morgan Co., Ga.: For $6923 paid by Faulkner Heard of Morgan Co. & Thomas Stocks of Greene Co., to William Stocks of Morgan Co., tract where William Stocks now resides in afsd. co. on Little River waters, 370 acres, adj. Walton, Stark, & Evans. Also, tract on Indian Creek in said co., 185 acres, adj. Colbert, Tinsley, & Faulkner Heard. Also, tract in Walton Co., 3rd Dist., Lot 127.
Also, negroes: Mingo, a man, 40 years old, Abram, 26, Jacob, 23, Reueben, 20, Venus, 24, & her two children, Julia, 8 years old, & Charity, 4, Chelsa, 40 years old, Aggy & Charlotte, 17 years old each, Annie, 10, Square, 8, Emily, 6, & Matilda, 9 years old. Also, my household & kitchen furniture, 8 beds & furniture with all other articles. Also, a carding & spinning machine, & loom, in fee simple, 26 Aug. 1828. Condition: William Stocks, 19 Feb. 1828, made promissory note for $1675 due at Darien Branch Bank in Milledgeville in 33 days. William Heard is first & Faulkner Heard is second endorser. Also, William Stocks, 13 Aug. last, made two other promissory notes, $1037 & $262 due the Branch Bank of Ga. at Eatonton on 10 Nov. 1828. William Heard is first & Faulkner Heard is second endorser. William Stocks made two other promissory notes, 10 July for $1400 & 21 Aug. for $812 both due 9 Sept. to Branch Bank of Ga. at Greenesborough. Thomas Stocks is first & Faulkner Heard is second endorser. William Stocks, 29 April 1826, made to Thomas Stocks a promissory note for $1021 due 25 Dec. next. Also, same day William Stocks made to Thomas Stocks promissory note due 25 Dec. next for $156. Also, 25 Aug. 1828, William Stocks made to Thomas Stocks promissory note for $560.
