pages 436-438     Morgan Co., Ga., Superior Court, Sept. Term 1828: Owen H. Kenan, Judge. Application of Lucy Barton, widow of William Barton, late of said co., decd. She is entitled to dower of lands her husband died seized of, Lot 164 in 5th Dist. of originally Baldwin now Morgan Co., 202 1/2 acres, adj. land of Sterling Ammons & William Hays. Also, 2/3 of Lot 209, same dist., 135 acres, adj. land of Alexr. McCalpin & others. Also, part of Lot 183, same dist., 77 1/2 acres, adj. land of Alexr. Eliott & others. A majority of you are to lay off & assign to Lucy Barton 1/3 part for her dower & make return to the next court, 8 Sept. 1828. /s/ John W. Porter, clerk.

It is part of Lot 164 in 5th Dist., the W. part of lot, 138 1/3 acres for & during her natural life, 7 Nov. 1828. /s/ Thaddeus Beall, John M. Butler, Alexander Elliott. Wit: Nathl. Allen, J.I.C. Plat: 138 1/3 acres, N. 45 E. 30 3/4 ch., N. 45 W. 45 ch., S. 45 W. 30 3/4 ch., meanders of branch to beg. Surveyed 7 Nov. 1828. /s/ Nathl. Allen, Surveyor. Superior Court, March Term 1829: Return made.
