page 156     Twiggs Co., Ga.: 31 Dec. 1830, Hartwell H. Tarver of afsd. co., to John Dupree & Jesse Gunn of Morgan Co., for $12,000, lots in Morgan Co., town of Madison, are lots formerly conveyed by Robert Pearman to Charles C. Mills & William Stokes & by Mills to Hartwell H. Tarver, all the lots where the Madison Hotel now stands beg. at S. cor. E. of Wells, the shoemaker, on line with the square to a Lombardy poplar between the storehouse now occupied by Moses Davis & the old store formerly occupied by Boon & Flournoy, parallel with street between Moses Davis & Henry Kirby to alley between lot & the Stables belonging to the Madison Hotel, along alley to street leading from the public square down to the brick building formerly occupied by Joshua Boon, up street to beg. Also, the lot where the Madison Hotel stables now stands including the stables with same width of ground down to Thomas McCartan’s fence now owned by Lancelot Johnston, with all improvements, in fee simple. /s/ H.
