pages 174-175     Mortgage: Morgan Co., Ga.: 4 April 1831, Greenberry Templeton to Carter Shepherd, both of said co., promissory note for $20 due 25 Dec. next. And $549.06, from 12 Feb. last due 25 Dec. next. Security: in Lee Co., Lot 188, 30th Dist., a negro woman named Silvy about 50 years old, the present growing crop of cotton & corn on land I rent from William P. Melson, 3 fields of cotton, each 10 acres, one about 20 acres on N.W. side of branch running through plantation, & a field of corn on opposite side of branch, 20 acres.
