92. Margaret Sims6Daniel (Frances5Sims, William4, Bruster3, Edward2, William1), was born 22 October 1837, Alabama, died August 1905, Dallas County, Texas. She married 10 August 1853, Dallas County, Texas, to Joshua Lafayette Smith,[954] born 1830, Alabama, died 1867, Dallas County, Texas. They are buried in Daniel Cemetery, Airline and Milton Streets, University Park (Dallas), Texas.[955]

J. Lafayette Smith was the son of Rev. James Anderson Smith, born 25 September 1801, Chester District, South Carolina, died 15 April 1863, Dallas County, Texas, and Anne Killen, born 26 February 1800, died 3 April 1860, Dallas County. Lafayette Smith’s grandmother was Nancy McDougal Killen, born 11 Oct. 1779, died 26 February 1859, Dallas.[956]

J. Lafayette Smith’s brother, William Robert Smith, married Margaret Sims Daniel’s cousin, Sophronia Winn.

James A. Smith was a Methodist minister. He organized the first Methodist Church in the city of Dallas, Texas, before 1850.

J. Lafayette Smith was a captain in the Confederate Army. He organized a company of Dallas County men for the 6th Texas Cavalry, serving first under Colonel B. Warren Stone and later under Colonel E. J. Gurley.

J. L. and Margaret S. Smith lived in Dallas County, Texas, in 1860.[957] In 1860, J. L. Smith owned 44 acres of improved land and 10 acres of unimproved land in Dallas County, with a value of $2000.[958]
