Her home was in Dallas. She married 13 September 1860, Dallas County, Texas, as his second wife, to Edward W. Hunt, born circa 1826, Alabama, died 17 September 1873, Dallas County, Texas. He was buried in Pioneer Cemetery in downtown Dallas, but his body was removed to the Daniel Cemetery in University Park.
Viola Winn Hunt was interested in the Sims family history. For many years she interviewed in person and wrote letters to her cousins gathering information. The result was five typewritten pages of Sims history, dated 11 April 1913.
Mrs. Viola Winn Hunt, her husband, Edward “Ned” Hunt, and her son, Eddie Hunt, are buried in Daniel Cemetery, Airline at Milton, University Park, (Dallas), Dallas County, Texas.
Edward W. Hunt married first, 15 April 1848, Dallas County, Texas, to Adelia Jane Thomas, born 28 May 1831, Tennessee, died 11 November 1859, Dallas County, of consumption. She is buried in Pioneer Cemetery in downtown Dallas next to the Convention Center.
Edward W. Hunt lived next door to Frances Sims Daniel in Dallas County, Texas, in 1850. Edward W. Hunt was treasurer of Dallas from 1860 to 1862. The land he owned in Dallas County was near present Walnut Hill Lane and the Elm Fork of the Trinity River. He also owned a parcel of land southwest of the corner of present Mockingbird Lane and Inwood Road.
