Texas Christian Advocate, 8 April 1876: Margaret A. Hines, wife of the Rev. T. J. Hines, departed this life December 18, 1875. She was born in Maury County, Tennessee, and embraced religion early in life. Her parents immigrated to Ellis [sic-Dallas] County, Texas, in 1858, and on December 27, 1859, she married her husband who now mourns. She left a husband and five little children. S. S. Scott.
T. J. Hines and his third wife, Alice, lived in Runnells County, Texas, in 1910. T. J.’s widow, Alice Hines, lived with her sister in Runnels County, in 1920.

He married circa 1891, to Sue D. ——, born 17 March 1866, died 26 September 1904, buried Greenwood Cemetery, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.
Thomas was a jeweler in Dallas. In 1889, T. J. Hines had a store at 948 Elm Street; in 1901 at 296 Main Street, and in 1905, at 298 Elm Street in Dallas. He and Sue lived on Harwood Street in Dallas, in 1900.
