Car Forrest’s will was filed in Ellis County, Texas, 11 May 1909. He named his granddaughter Mrs. Etta P. Morris. Daughter, Mrs. Lee V. Patterson. Son, T. C. Forrest, administrator. Witnesses: Earl Fort, D. H. Newton. Codicil witnesses: G. C. Groce, J. N. Eckridge.
Waxahachie Light, 6 May 1909: Capt. Carr Forrest died here at the home of Tom Forrest early yesterday morning. He will be buried at his home graveyard today. Services will be at 9:30. Capt. Forrest was in his 83rd year and one of the counties pioneer citizens.
