The tombstone for G. H. and Tennessee Cunningham says Mrs. G. H. Cunningham, Sunday school teacher in the Methodist church at Bethel 36 years.

Dallas Morning News, 15 August 1913: Death of Mrs. George Cunningham – Special to the News. Waxahachie, Texas, August 14. Mrs. George H. Cunningham, wife of George H. Cunningham, vice president of the Waxahachie National Bank, and mother of Ed F. Cunningham, cashier of the bank, died today at her home in this city from a stroke of paralysis which she suffered Sunday. Mrs. Cunningham was one of the pioneers of Ellis County. She was seventy-four years of age and had been married fifty-four years. The house to which she went as a bride is still standing on the old homestead near Bethel. She and Mr. Cunningham were charter members of the Bethel Methodist Church. Burial will be held at that place tomorrow.
