Dallas Morning News, 8 May 1905: Death of Capt. M. L. Sims. Special to the News. Paris, Texas, May 7 – Capt. M. L. Sims, one of the oldest and most respected lawyers in this section of the state, died at 3 o’clock yesterday at his home in Clarksville.
Sue West was the daughter of Edward West, born 1802, died 1868, and Susan Jones, born 1809, died 1882. Edward West settled in Red River County, in 1833. He was the first sheriff of Red River County. The Wests lived about two and a half miles northwest of Clarksville.
Edward and Susan West lived in Red River County, Texas, in 1850 and 1860. Sue was called Martha West in 1850 and Sue M. West in 1860.
