| Martha Thompson was Asbury’s second wife. Asbury Ogletree married first, 30 January 1832, Lowndes County, Alabama, to Sarah Meadows, born circa 1810, died September 1836, Taliaferro County, Georgia, [See Meadows chapter, No. 105] daughter of Ransom Meadows. [See Meadows chapter, No. 28] Asbury’s sons, John R. and Thomas R. Ogletree, were by his first wife, Sarah Meadows. The rest of his children were by Martha Thompson.

| Asbury Ogletree lived in Taliaferro County, in 1840,157 1850,158 1860,159 1870,160 and 1880.161 Asbury and Martha Ogletree had nine children.162
