Ellington, granted to S. Mercer.178 In 1805, Wylie Saxon paid taxes in District II in Wilkes County, on two slaves, 197 ½ acres of third class land in Wilkes County, on Hardens Creek, adjoinging Piner, granted to Mercer. Wylie Saxon lived next door to his brother-in-law, Samuel Thompson, in 1805.179
