    Wiley Saxon paid taxes in Wilkes County, Georgia, from 1796 until 1805. He lived in District II.172 In 1796, Wylie Saxton was a defaulter in District II in Wilkes County.173 Wyley Saxon was a defaulter in 1797.174 The lists for 1798 are missing for District II. In 1799, Wilie Saxon, one poll, no land, lived next door to Samuel Saxon.175 The lists for 1800 are missing for District II. In 1801, Wilei Saxson paid taxes in District II on two slaves, 150 acres of third class land in Wilkes County, on Hardens Creek, adjoining A. Harper, granted to Roger Broox.176 In 1802, Wilei Saxson paid taxes in District II on five slaves, 297 acres of second class land in Wilkes County, on Hardens Creek, adjoining James Patterson, granted to A. Harper.177 There is no surviving tax list in Wilkes County, in 1803. In 1804, Wylie Saxon paid taxes on two slaves, 175 acres of second class land in Wilkes County, on Hardens Creek, adjoining J. Ellington, granted to S. Mercer.178 In 1805, Wylie Saxon paid taxes in District II in Wilkes County, on two slaves, 197 ½ acres of third class land in Wilkes County, on Hardens Creek, adjoinging Piner, granted to Mercer. Wylie Saxon lived next door to his brother-in-law, Samuel Thompson, in 1805.179
    Wiley Saxon drew land in the 1807 Georgia Land Lottery as a resident of Edge’s District in Wilkes County. He drew Lot 110 in the 27th District of Wilkinson County.180
