    In 1796, Henry Thompson was a defaulter in Captain Hiram Howard’s District RR in Wilkes County, Georgia. Jonathan Wilborne, John Woodall, and James Smith paid taxes in District RR on land on Stephens Creek, adjoining Henry Thompson.23 Henry Thompson failed to make a return in 1796. He could have been away from home when these taxes were collected.
    In 1797, Henry Thompson paid taxes in Wilkes County, Georgia, in Captain Hiram Howard’s District RR on 365 acres of third class land on Stephens Creek, adjoining Moses Stephens; 230 acres on Stephens Creek, adjoining Jon. Wilborne; and 100 acres of second class land and 100 acres of third class land on Stephens Creek, adjoining Jno. Woodall. Henry Thompson’s land also adjoined land of Jonathan Wilborne on Little River. Henry Thompson also paid taxes as agent for the return of Jno. Wilson for 460 acres in Jackson County, in the reserve.24 In 1797 in Captain Meshack Turner’s District MM, Moses Stephens’s land adjoined Henry Thompson on Stephens Creek.25 There is no extant tax return for District RR in 1798.
    On 7 October 1797 in Wilkes County, Georgia, Henry Thompson and Mary, his wife, sold to Amos Stewart, all of Wilkes County, for $150, 150 acres in Wilkes County, on Stephens Creek waters.26
    Henry Thompson was the executor of the estate of Isabella Schroder in Wilkes County, Georgia. Isabella made her will 6 October 1793 and it was proved 12 February 1794 in Wilkes County. Her will named sons, Alex, John, Wm. and Magnus Schroder to have all land except a strip adjoining Edmond Daniel which he is to have when he secures the grant. To George Rutledge 100 acres of the above land which he purchased. To son-in-law, Thomas Thomas, 5 shillings. To granddaughter Isabel Thomas a bed. The residue to four daughters, Agnes, Isabel, Margaret and Easther. Executors: Edmond Daniel and Henry Thompson. Test: William Evans and Abraham McAlhattan.27 Isabella Schroder, decd. Executor: Henry Thompson. Receipts of Alex. and Isabel Schroder and of William Going for Nancy Going in full of their legacies £5 each, 12 November 1796.28 There is no known relationship between Henry Thompson and Isabella Schroder.
