    William Hardeman lived in Hinds County, Mississippi, in 1850. His mother, Ann Neely Hardeman, his sisters, Ann Lewis Hardeman and Lavenia Caroline Hardeman, and the children of his sister, Sarah Jane E. Hardeman Stuart, lived with him in 1850.808
    William’s widow, Mary Hardeman, lived with George Polk in Maury County, Tennessee, in 1870809 and 1880.810 George Polk married Mary’s sister, Sally Hilliard, 24 November 1840, Williamson County, Tennessee.811
