    85. Sarah Jane Eleanor4Hardeman (Nicholas Perkins3, Thomas2, John1), was born 16 July 1816,830 Williamson County, Tennessee, died 25 April 1849,831 Mississippi. She married 3 October 1837, Williamson County, Tennessee, to Oscar James E. Stuart,832 born 1810, Virginia, died 1885, Yazoo County, Mississippi. He lived with his daughter and son-in-law, R. B. and Annie E. Mayes, in Yazoo County, in 1880.833
    The children of Oscar J. E. and Sarah J. E. Stuart lived in Hinds County, Mississippi, in 1850, with their Uncle William Hardeman, their Aunts Ann L. and Lavinia C. Hardeman, and their grandmother, Mary Neely Hardeman.834
    Sarah Hardeman’s Stuart children were reared by her family. After William Hardeman died in 1863, the Hardemans and Stuart children moved to Haynesville, Lowndes County, Alabama, for a short time. In 1864, Adelaide Stuart worked in Columbia, South Carolina. During the 1860s, Ann Lewis Hardeman and her niece, Bettie (or Annie) lived in Franklin City, Mississippi.
