Mary Pate, widow & relict of Edward Pate, late of Morgan Co., decd., at March Term 1832, Superior Court, applied for Writ of Dower of real estate decd. died seized of in said co. Three months have passed since the death of Edward Pate. Legal notice was given & no objections filed. You are to divide 167 1/2 acres, adj. land of Jesse Gunn & William Harris, & assign to Mary Pate, widow & relict, her dower or 1/3 of land & make return to next court, 1st Monday in Sept. next, 1 May 1832. /s/ John W. Porter, clerk. Plat: 39 acres & 15 acres, N. 45 E. 18 ch. 22 links, N. 45 W. 39 ch. 73 links, S. 22 ch., S. 40 E. 24 ch. 50 links. Above is that part of Lot 319 in S.E. cor. & that part of Lot 318 which belonged to Edward Pate when he died. It is in N.E. cor. of lot. It is all land E. of branch that belonged to Edward Pate when he died, adj. N. by Jesse Gunn, E. by J. Gunn & Jesse Woodall, S. by branch which divides it from land of William Harris, W. by branch that divides Lots 319 & 318 from land of William Harris.
