William Sims6Harlan (Elizabeth “Betsy”5Sims, William4, Bruster3, Edward2, William1), was born 13 December 1818, Maury County, Tennessee, died 6 June 1865, Noxubee County, Mississippi.[571] He married 5 October 1844, Noxubee County, Mississippi, to Mary Ann Hunter,[572] born 21 August 1827, Maury County, Tennessee, died 7 November 1885, Noxubee County, Mississippi, daughter of William H. Hunter. Mary A. Harlan married second, to her brother-in-law, Jehu Harlan, 3 January 1878.[573]

William and Mary Harlan and their children, William H. and Sarah E. Harlan, lived with William’s brother, Jehu Harlan, in Noxubee County, Mississippi, in 1850.

William S. Harlan lived in Noxubee County, Mississippi, in 1860.[574] Mary Harlan was head of the family in Noxubee County, in 1870.[575] She  and her son, Henry Harlan, lived with Jehu Harlan in 1880 in Noxubee County.
